There are many advantages to drycleaning as opposed to regular washing. Many fabrics shrink, distort, or lose color when washed in water, but do not when drycleaned. Also, drycleaning can dissolve grease and oils that water cannot. Upon receiving your clothes, the cleaner pretreats spots and stains with special cleaning agents. If there is a particular spot on the garment that you are aware of, telling your cleaners will aid in the cleaning process. After pretreatment, the clothes are cleaned in a machine using a perchloroethylene solution. "Perc" has been in use in the drycleaning industry since its introduction in the 1930's. "Perc" has many practical and environmental benefits that include a relatively low toxicity. It is completely non-flammable and non-combustible, and can be reused and recycled effectively unfortunately, "perc" cannot remove all stains, but it can get most of them out . If your stain will not come out then know that it was in the minority. There could be various reasons that the cleaners felt that it was not safe to continue working on that particular spot i.e., fear of destroying the fabric. Now that you know a little more about the cleaning process, hopefully you will make us your personal professional cleaners. Trust in knowing that everything we do is in accordance with all environmental standards. |
